IMT’s Shipyard Operation, with locations in Lemont (mile marker 300) and Channahon (mile marker 279), offers a full suite of services to ensure your equipment can safely get moving as soon as possible. Our inside workshop and outside work bays can accommodate both quick repair and long-term projects.
QUICK REPAIR SERVICES
We have extensive experience serving inland towing vessels and barges, Great Lakes towing vessels and passenger vessels. Our Lemont Shipyard location boasts a Syncrolift dry-dock with 2,200-ton lifting capacity. IMT ensures ABS certified welders are available to complete projects to meet or exceed applicable ABS and/or USCG standards.
TANK BARGE OPERATIONS
LIQUID BARGE CLEANING
Our full-service tank barge cleaning capability is available in Lemont offering the following services: Hot/Cold Water Wash, Strip & Blow, Strip & Squeegee, Overhead Strip, and Boiler Service. Our Channahon location provides select cleaning services.
TOPSIDE REPAIR
Our topside repair capabilities include all machinery (valves, pumps, diesel engines, and transmissions) as well as U.S. Coast Guard Annual Inspections and Internal Structural Examinations (ISEs).
BARGE READINESS
IMT’s highly qualified barge readiness technicians will ensure your tank barges are ready to arrive at the dock and complete scheduled discharges without issue.
DRY BARGE CLEANING
IMT’s Lemont and Channahon locations allow for quick turnaround dry cargo barge cleaning, cover handling, cover storage, and fiberglass repair work.
TERMINAL SERVICES
IMT can provide loading and offloading services of select dry bulk and project cargos in both Lemont and Channahon locations.
